The Bulwark is a daunting, jagged mountain range south of Thranargos that divides Evrand from it's child states. It is home to many formidable dangers, such as Giants, poachers and goblin warbands. The Bulwark offers unrivaled game for hunters and unspoiled natural beauty. The caves beneath the mountains span into a network of labrynthian tunnels where all manner of foul creatures lurk. The only beaten path in the Bulwark is the gold road; a trade route that connects Evrand to it's colonies. The Gold Road divides into two paths; the high road and the low road. Though both can be used to traverse across the bulwark, their routes differ greatly. The older and more treacherous of the two roads; the low road, descends into the Giant-inhabited valley of Freya's Breath before re-emerging on the other side of the valley. The new high road is a more direct path that utilizes the great castle-bridge of Caldisdor that spans over the valley. Caldisdor is the only Evrandian settlement in the region, and it is constantly under the looming threat of Giant raids. Today, the Low Road serves as a smuggling route for outlaws. It is said that various criminal organizations have worked out a bargain with a Bronze Dragon for safe passage through the Bulwark via the low road, allowing them to safely move contraband items between Evrand and Bladecrest.
